New York Style Buffalo Wings
Ingredients
- Chicken wings - 1 kg, thigh and bone separated
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Hot sauce - 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Garlic powder - 1 tsp
- Cayenne pepper - (optional)
- To Serve:
- Ranch dressing
- Celery sticks
Instructions
- Take the wings out of the refrigerator.
- Make the buffalo sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan over a low heat. Remove from the heat once the butter is melted and add the hot sauce, salt and garlic powder, mixing well to combine. Add the desired amount of cayenne pepper if using.
- Transfer the wings to a mixing bowl. Pour only half of the buffalo sauce over them and toss to coat.
- Cover the bowl and leave to marinate out of the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or in the refrigerator overnight. Keep the second half of the buffalo sauce.
- Preheat the oven to 180˚C. Line a baking tray with aluminium foil.
- Place the wings on the baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping in between.
- Remove the wings from the oven and pour the remaining hot sauce over the wings and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately with ranch dressing and celery sticks.
